Engines out and have removed the twin turbos and found bits off metal sitting in there :2eek think thats good.
Fly wheel has cracks where the clutch plate sits, so take it thats got to be replaced.
54mm socket is going to be in tomorrow, how tight is the 54mm nut and whats the easyest way of removing it.

easiest way is get a bike chain, or something similar, wrap it around the flywheel and bolt it to the floor, use a big bar, scaffold pole on the nut, should come off easy.

or use the pikey method and use a chisel and heavy hammer and hit the nut at angle and loosen it off. this way may require you to replace the nut.

Something around 280ft lbs +

Do as grant says, stop flywheel and anchor down :)

thanks guys, seen a locking tool mazda do, so taking pic in to work and get the fitter to make me a tool that will lock the flywheel and all so bolts to floor, so engine will not move i hope lol

Oooh proper job! :)

I used some chain and bolted it to the flywheel and engine top :D (your way is definately better! :))

Good stuff, would be a shame to not make a few extra ;)

well the price off metal at moment dont think people would want to pay the extra cost as well as rebuild cost its ok for me as we have the metal laying around at work,

today i got the jig bolted to floor, bolted fly wheel to it and then used a big breaker bar and a 6ft tub and the fly wheel nut came undone easy. next the 19mm bolt on front, that was no problem :wiggle
if i could work out how to put pictures on here, ill post a picture off gig we made, worked a treat

In the post a reply section there is a little picture of a post card with 2 mountains on it. Click in that and paste your link into the box there. But delete the http that is in the box first.

You have to upload them to something like photo bucket first though.
