I found a new door trim to replace the piece when I got the car but for love nor money it won\'t stick to the damn door. I\'ve tried the double spongey trim tape from Halfords and an EVOSTIK glue which is meant to stick anything to anything... I fear I may have to strip all the crap from the door and the back of the trim but this looks like it will take years :(

Anyone had to do this or know something decent to use?!

*sarcasm* pop rivets? lol

honestly, did you use a standard double sided sticky tape? you\'ll often find that you need industrial strength stuff, also, try using a low power heat gun or hair dryer to make the glue stickier.

It didn\'t feel that strong but it was for attaching trim to cars.

It did cross my mind whether I should pop a couple of black screws in there...

2K adhesive, any decent bodyshop should know it and have it.

I wouldn\'t do screws, they don\'t really fit an image, too ghetto to work well.

You\'d need high grade tape for the sides, what people advertise for the application are usually substandard and aren\'t up to the challenge.

Yeah, there\'s ghetto, then there\'s too ghetto, pop rivets are ghetto, screws are just too ghetto, with ghetto, it\'s much like rat look, actually looks like effort has gone into it (albeit at grinder price) whereas too ghetto looks like a death trap.

That\'s my way of looking at it anyway.

Still doesn\'t bother me. As long as it complies with my 6ft rule. A black sounter sunk screw either side of the door wouldn\'t be that noticable. Not compared to the usual front wing and sunroof rust and deterioration it has :(
