MOT the day is coming

My MOT is due and of the local garages that I have used on the past to get the car through the MOT due to emissions. So far 2 have said they can\'t take the risk of VOSA stopping the car and finding it doesn\'t pass and then losing the right to do MOTs. One of them have been working on my cars since my first car so I have a good relationship with them.

With road side checks starting (These a regulary one at the end of the M1 at staples corner). How are single, ported engines going to get through or are sports cats the way to go.

Any single turbos running sports cats or any type of cat.

I used to keep a selection of exhausts and cats when i did a lot of SVA work a few years ago. I would also remove all the non standard extras such as gauges, turbo timers and DVD screens just to pass. The SVA test centre is government run so would never overlook anything and they were well aware that the cars they\'d pass would instantly be changed back but as they said \'as long as they are correct when tested that was what counted to them\'.
Would it be worth making up and fitting an exhaust just to MOT test your car? VOSA would have no grounds to challenge the garage as it would be entirely down to you :wiggle

I have an FC as I know that emissions will be an issue, with the OEM airpump my CO% was 0.18% with no cat or any emissions stuff (max of 3.5% on the FC), I would do what the americans have to do with there useless cars, fit an electric smog pump

Although if you have a power FC you can run it on an \'MOT\' setting which will run minimum fueling to get past the emissions.

get a commander and PFC if you dont already have one. You can knock down the emissions using that easily. If you get stopped, first thing you do is press a button, jobs a good \'un
