Do you need to have the 330ohm resistor in the 1k fuel pump relay (speed) wire ? Whats the reason for the resistors anyway ?

Also as I\'m not using the air pump would the 2j air pump relay terminal need to be plugged in ?

Thanks in advance ;-) hoping for a quick reply as im in mates place where car is stored doing the wiring !! Lol

The 330ohm resistor isn\'t in the 1k relay wire, it\'s in between the circuit opening relay and the pump.
I think 1t activates the circuit opening relay which powers the unactivated fuel pump relay and the fuel pump via the resistor giving 9volts to the pump for idle.
Above idle the ECU opens the fuel pump relay via 1k which runs 12volts parallel to the resistor.
That\'s according to the diagrams, I personally done away with the resistor and only have that wire to activate a separate relay which joins a wire straight from the battery to the pump, that way you get 13volts.

thanks once again squire - the rex loom has been spliced onto the cappuccino loom and i found the resistor on the 1k wire about 2 inches before the terminal which plugs into the ecu. Any ideas why prior owner has done this?? Once again , i will post up pics of his home made wiring sketches to show his workings. I have to go out and help my sister now, messy divorce and i have to be her guarantor for a mortgage :-/
