RX-8 type E & S???

Been having a look at Rx-8\'s and Rx-7. On a few import websites and on mazda Japan website I\'ve seen Rx-8 type E\'s and S\'s. Are this of a higher spec than the european versions??

If they are, does anyone know anything more??
