not sure if this has been covered or not

BUT

what does it do ?

from my understanding ( oohh you\'ll like this )

rather than excess oil being pumped back into the sump - it collects in a can ?

i have seen pics on the 2ng gen where they disconnect the pipe from the filler neck and place into a bottle

is this the same thing just a lot cheaper - or am i way off track

/has coat in hand and door open for a sharp exit if im wrong /

Stu

fro

Oil vapours (from the crankcase) that would have been routed back into the inlet (and burnt) are caught in the can. A bottle is the same, but a lot cheaper :D

grinder

back into the inlet ??

which one ?

and why is the catch can a worth whilst investement ???

fro

on most engines it\'s routed back into the inlet manifold so the gasses are burnt in the engine. Catch cans are good because
the gasses aren\'t burnt so the combustion process is cleaner
to some extent it may lower intake temperatures (although that\'s debateable)
they\'re shiney!
