got pipped to the post on ebay on sat for an aem ecu :-( , anyway what i would like to know is whats involed if i get an apexi fc and controller? would this be an ok one to buy for my setup ?
 
extra wiring in / plug connectors etc?
 
do they or can they be programmed to run the oil pump ?
 
are they a stand alone ecu / does away with the std ecu?
 
oh my car is the white suzuki death sled with a 13b twin turbo converted to single turbo lump in it
 
finally getting back into this project, was spending my last couple of months getting my motorbike ready for the nurburgring - what a mental experience! cars n bikes mixing it on the same tarmac..... that track is amazing :D:D

just saw a snippet of another thread , i need to do a coil mod for an apexi ecu? how does that work, if you put another coil in the system where does the ht lead go?

What car and engine do you have ?

The apexi is more than capable of running a single turbo 13b but it depends which engine you have on your options.

The Apexi is plug and play, already mapped with a base map to get you going but getting it mapped is highly recommended,  no wiring mods required, controls the oil metering pump and an option in the commander for single turbo.
You only need to mod the coil wires if you are using 2 coils for the leading coil ( only a single with two outputs as standard ).
You will also need to know which year your harness is from as there are three types, if you don\'t know then post up how many plugs the standard ECU has or take a pic of it.

Many thanks for all your input people\'s :-) my engine came from a 1993 rx7 fd twin turbo , is that enough to determine ? I\'ll go have a look at dash area tonight too for plug configuration

well i bought the apexi ecu and controller for £410 quid delivered so im awaiting delivery , as someone has pointed out to me on here that there is a rotary specialist in porstmouth ( 15mins from me ) so once its hooked up i think a visit or at least a call to them to get some more info on setup etc is in order. Watch this space i guess! thanks again for help so far ....

hey dave , im on hayling island - iv made a cardinal sin mistake - bloody bought an fc unit for a 96 fd ...... my lump n loom is a 92/93 :-( i have read on a how to guide that there is a wiring harnes adapter to use a later fc on an earlier loom - is this true and if so where can i get one ??
 
i dont want to have bought 400 quids worth of apexi ornament .....
