try "burping" it.

what you need:
hammer! jk
empty bottle (ie 500ml cola bottle) with bottom cut out
water
car
petrol

How to:
1) take rad cap off and leave off

2) stick neck of bottle into rad neck

3) top up with water

4) start engine with bottle still in rad neck. maybe better to turn heating to hot so water can go through the internal heater matrix, will need inside fans on.

5) wait til engine gets to about 80 deg C (thermostat should open about then) then you should see the water level from the bottle drop.

6) fill up more water until full.

7) leave for about 5 mins. (top up as you go along if required, you might see air come out into the bottle)

8) stop engine and let cool on baking tray

9) repeat step 3 onwards another time to make sure all air is out.

10) take for test drive and fingers crossed, should stop overheating. if it overheats again then maybe water seals?

NB if once engine is started lots of bubbles (champagne type bubbles) form inside the empty bottle and keeps frothing, then indicates water seal.

hope this helps :)
I do not take credit for this test. I heard from Nik da gReek who got from Blitzboy :)
2 doritos on a stick woohoo :rollin

Wot Liam said, worked for me. Except I neglected to use the upside-down bottle in the rad neck part. Still works but tends to plss super-heated coolant all over the floor/your feet. I\'d recommend the bottle :rollin

did the bottle thing and i the bubbles still kept coming out, after 3 mins off running engine, my heater has cool air from it untill i boot the car and then it gets hot untill my revs go back down
