Re overtaking...

The advantage is you haven\'t committed yourself, so you can pull out EARLIER - thus compensating for the time you think you\'ve lost. If you see something ahead that\'s going to be a problem you pull back in. Though it doesn\'t take 5 seconds to get a picture of the hazards for an overtake!

Seemed a bit odd when I started doing it that way, but I do see the advantages now... if you\'re trying to do it in one blast you have to be a bit more certain you\'ve got space before you start which means you sometimes lose the opportunity.

Re country lanes - it\'s fine as long as you can stop in the distance you can see, which usually means well over 25mph, specially in a car with a setup like the 8. (Er, within reason, if you can see 1/4 of a mile that doesn\'t mean you should do 150. :D )

For demo see Snake Pass yesterday. :D

Shame you didn\'t enjoy it. :( I\'m looking forward to mine!
