I have bought an engine with gearbox still attached but the bolts attaching the gearbox to the block have been removed,

Iv had a look through the inspection hole and this is what i see,

What do i need to do to get them apart

Cheers

Hi Kris,

That is the way to remove the gear box anyway, reassemble the clutch assembly onto the gear box, refit box then put your 6 bolts back in to bolt the pressure plate to the flywheel,

Hope this helps
All the best Clive

why did you not follow the youtube video posted on fduk?

I know you done it as clive has said, but easier way to do it without disturbing the clutch assembly and to get the clutch assembly off the gearbox now is from the inspection holes in the gearbox use a longish large scredriver/flat tool - push in the ring numbered \'1\' holding it in,2 you will now be able to carefully pull the gearbox away.
job done:-)

Only reason I didn\'t follow the video on fduk  is because I couldnt really see as it was getting dark and plus I couldnt find my massive screwdriver but it\'s ok it\'s getting done sometime today

Cheers
