How easy is it to refurb and rebuild a set of FD callipers? and where can you get the kits from,

Need something to do on the weekends ready for when my car gets back on the road

Cheers

I know AUTOMATICREX on here sells the kits also available on ebay, seems like a straight forward procedure from looking at the fsm

Is there any guides on how to do it?

If your a member of FDUK, then SiH has just done a thorough write-up of refurbishing a set.

Apparently putting details of your car spec in your signature means the nice folks on exile-rotorsport think you\'re a fool.  I can think of no higher compliment!

See if you can have a look at the pistons first since they may be corroded and if so any new caliper set will not seal properly.

If the pads are worn and the pistons are extended then it is easy to see the condition of the sides of the pistons.

Mazdarotaryparts do Mazda replacements calipers if all else fails

2 things needed:
Seal kit:

And might be worth looking for some stainless pistons if yours are shot, if you can\'t find them you can get std ones off the net easy enough...... or the other option is to take the pistons out of yours and find an engineering shop to knock up a set in stainless for you ;)
