After a while I\'ve started up my RX7 (to go for it\'s MOT) and for some reason it\'s started blinking the Exhaust temp light on and off, which is the PFC telling me that a sensor isn\'t working.

Having a look at the sensor and switch screen on the commander it is highlighting the VMOP which is the Oil Metering Pump sensor.

With the ignition on this sensor is reading 0.87v, apparently this should be 1v, which I\'m guessing is why it is throwing a sensor error.

I\'m assuming that this means that it is working, just not as well as it should be. However is that really a cause for concern?

I\'ll put some 2-stroke oil in the fuel just to be on the safe side (40ml for half a tank?).

remove it, run premix, no more worrying :)

a blinking HEAT light isn\'t a sensor failure, that keeps the light on all the time. If its blinking it\'s either knock warning / injector duty warning depending how quickly it\'s flashing.

Orrrr. It could be the sensor itself on the OMP, if it\'s knackered or loose it\'ll be sending intermittent signals - hence the light blinking on or off.

Oh yeah, typical pre-mix ratio is 1:100 so that\'s about right :)

It seems to be blinking every 2 seconds, which I don\'t think is either Knock or Injection Duty. besides I\'ve been running off boost and cruised around at 3000 rpm.

My knock sensor could be knackered, but the max I saw on a drive was 35, below the level the Power FC flashes the light.

I think you are right that the sensor could be sending signals intermitently causing it to blink on and off, as looking that the sensor screen on the commander the highlighting blinks on and off, I\'m guessing that would be highlighted permanently if it was faulty, so it must be sending the signal intermitently.

bumpstart

degrease the EOMP unit and also clean the contacts in the plugs up by the waterpump filler neck

yep, you\'re right, that\'s not either warning. The knock one flashes rapidly, and the injector duty flashes three times at 0.5sec intervals IIRC. Might be worth checking the injector duty though on the commander just in case.

Right again, failed sensors are highlighted blue continuously. Sounds like a dodgy connection to me.

Cool, thanks for your help, I\'ll investigate the wiring and see if it is loose or needs the contacts cleaned
