Hey,

It\'s time to bite the bullet and get a fresh set of tyre for my t2 vert, it\'s all stock at the moment, and will stay mostly that way in the future too. But I\'m after some thoughts on tyre choice, I believe the mazda recommended size is 205/60/15? Does anyone run other tyre sizes on the stock bbs wheels?

Also what\'s peoples thoughts on the better tyres to go for? There seems some toyos, yokohamma and continental about my price range of £60 a corner, but I think I\'m tempted to go for the rainmasters... I am in Scotland so wet weather performance is still importand even in summer :)

Thanks

Well I\'ve been running Toyo T1R\'s on my coupe. 205/55/R16. I can\'t fault them really for the price. They\'ve done 2 track days and a few laps of the sprint track at RS7 plus what ever I\'ve done on the road. Really good grip in the dry or wet.
I don\'t need to upgrade my stock turbo to beat your ass!

Get your finger out, get it on the road and start driving it then!!! (B.Martin 25/2/12)

Good suggestion from Tiddles there! Dropping .5 of a profile will be fine, and gives you a better option! How are they in the wet though?

I\'m not a fan of continentals in any shape or form (except their VERY, VERY high end stuff that I cannot afford). They just seem to be crap in anything other than the dry, and I\'ve run about 6 different tyre models!

I\'ve had the same experience with mid range continentals, I think the pirelli\'s are similar....

Only problem with the toyos is they are reported to have a weak sidewall, my g/f had 2 tyres burst on the sidewall :s

Thats not so good. Never heard that before. I\'ve also used BF Goodrich before now. They were ok for budget tyres.

I know it\'s a different car, but I ran Toyo T1Rs on my 323F for a while, and thought they were very good, great grip...I recently changed to Yokahama Parada Spec2s...and they are awesome :) I had read some reviews that rated them poorly in the wet, but I find them to be fine. The sidewall is stiffer than the Toyos, and cornering is better on them...and they were a tad cheaper too :)

Im running Goodyear F1s on the rear, don\'t think they make them anymore but its a very good tyre :D will have my full set of rims and tyres up soon once I get a set of FD rims :)

I might consider the Yokos too, with a huge profile I think they need a harder sidewall :) I\'m still tempted by the Unyroyal rainmasters though!
