every time I start the car now, I need to add coolant. It started off being a very small amount every other time I started the car but it\'s seemingly getting worse.
I figured it was an air lock, last weekend I had to replace the bottom radiator hose and radiator drain plug and as a result, I had to refill the coolant.

Sadly, I\'ve just started the engine from cold with the filler cap off... it starts fine with no white smoke but after about 20 seconds, the coolant is very slowly pushed out the filler cap. No bubbles, just a very gradual trickle out the filler until the cap is replaced. The overflow tank is full.

Does this sound like the onset of seal failure? I was expecting the coolant to be pushed out the filler with bubbles

Check the pressure cap on the air seperator tank,They get tired so a new one is worth a try. Also the overflow tank should not be full.Check the level.
When you check your coolent level it should not be at the top of the filler when the car is cold,it should be a couple of inches or so down the neck.
Kind regards
Carl

Thanks Carl, I\'ll replace the ast cap as soon as possible just to be sure.
As for the overflow tank, I\'ve probably been putting too much coolant in (I\'ve been filling it to the brim)
Thanks again
