Hey guys,

bought my FD on monday and after going through the service history and checking over engine bay, have decided to carry out some maintenance activities before getting it up and running on the road.

going to do the following:

oil / filter change
coolant change
full belts change

my main question is, how easy is it to change the belts how many are there and do you have to worry about any timing issues? or is it it literally a swap and tension afair ??

thanks in advance guys, want to save my money and do most the work myself

The 2 belts are easy to replace, just don\'t over tighten. Might be better changing the fuel filter if it hasn\'t been done lately.
Stick a set of plugs in also as they really don\'t last long.

Belts are fine, main thing to remember is to loosen the idler pulley when trying to slacken off the tenioner bolt. Trust me on this...

Change the fuel filter too - oh, and it\'s a complete arse - hidden above the diff.

cheers guys, sounds pretty straight forward, going to do fuel filter + spark plugs too, probably put magnecor ignition leads on at the same time

ALPINE ANTIFREEZE EXTEND:
Monoethylene glycol based automotive antifreeze and coolant utilising Organic Acid Technology (OAT). Used in all diesel and petrol engines, suitable for all year round use. Protection from freezing down to –40°C and superior corrosion protection for all metals found in the cooling system. Extra long life – up to 150,000 kms or 5 years whichever occurs first.
