Hi all,

Just wondering really.... my FD3 genrally operates at around 95-100 degress C when fully warmed up and sticks around 90 with the Air con running.

Is 95-100 normal? It is due for a coolant flush and change anyway.

All stock other than air intake and back box.

Cheers,
Adam

Wow, that\'s pretty warm!
We\'re talking water, right?
Off the stock gauge, PFC, or aftermarket?
Mine is rock steady around 81 with a Koyo rad in a V mount.

If that\'s air you have serious issues :D
Air temp should be 10-20 above ambient. When on the move with my V mount it\'s often only around 5 degrees off boost.

Oil is somewhere around 70, up to 100ish, depending on conditions/how much of a .... I\'m driving like.

Sorry SiH, just thought through this post and mentioning the coolant is pretty misleading as I was talking about oil temp!!

my OIL TEMP is always sitting around 95-100...... that\'s when driving with the air con off, when I stop in traffic is doesn\'t take long to go over 100 either, at which point the fans kick in (a bit earlier due to thermo switch mod, fans kick in a few degrees earlier.)

Aftermarket gauge....

Does that sound normal enough?

water temps should be as close to 85c as poss
Oil, depends where you are taking the reading from... mine is at the oil filter & tends to sit around 65-70c but at the sump I would say it\'s more likely to be 90c

Hi Adam, You may remember i said i had installed an Apexi ecu, One reason was to check the Aftermarket water temperature against the Apexi, The Apexi is generally thought to be the most accurate, and gave readings lower than the aftermarket gauge. so the readings from that gauge are on the higher side, for water! if that helps. you mention Oil temp, have you fitted an aftermarket oil gauge? If so, where is the sensor for this? and is it capilliary or electric gauge?
