My RX-8 won\'t start - it turns over but just doesn\'t sound like its anywhere near firing. I took the battery out and slow-charged it overnight, but it sounds the same.
I\'ve had problems with it not wanting to restart after a fine initial start and warming up?

Unfortunately the engine is flooded with fuel,

If you are able to take the passenger front wheel off to gain access to the plugs, remove them along with the fuel pump fuse located in the box to the right of the air filter and spin the engine over to get rid of the excess fuel.

The other way if you have done this before, is to tow the car down the road, engage 3rd and let the car gradually fire up using no throttle,

Either way when the car starts do not rev the engine like mad to clear the engine, simply keep the revs down till the engine is properly warm otherwise you will ignite the fuel in the cat and destroy it.

Not sure how this has flooded but normally this is because the engine was shut of when it was cold, however if it is failing to start when hot and leaving for 5 minutes or so then this means the engine has low compression but if this was so then the car should start without flooding after 20 minutes or so.

If unsure about any of the above please call a garage in

Hope this helps
All the best Clive
