Hello

Just wondering what to do here...

I have a UK model, and hence have much stricter emissions to contend with.

Could I still pass easily if I have a high flow cat and porting with pfc?

How much power would be sapped by having the cat installed?

I\'m just wondering if its worth modding a UK model with this hassle, or to just get an import to play with and have the UK car as stock.

Thanks for the input, just trying to make my mind up :)

you can pass all emissions easily (well relatively) if you ahve a PFC + commander. CHeck out the many threads on here.

But a cat will sap a fair bit of power as it is essentially a big restriction in the exhaust system. How much? No idea, a guess would be 5-10% or so?

i just put the cat in mine for the mot and then as soon as it passes i just wip it off again!:rollin

Does the airpump help at all? If I make it "simplified sequential", just plopping the cat in for mot\'s, do you think this would be enough? (all emission control removed)

Thanks for the pfc tips :)

yeah, the airpump provides auxilliary air for the cat to burn off residual hydrocarbons and thus keep your HC emissions down. If you don\'t have a cat, don\'t worry about the airpump - but if you do, then it\'s advisable to keep it.
