And similar to Elford:

So like I said, I don\'t think that its specifically TWR, the only difference I could ever tell was the little TWR stamped on the bumper....

Hi, don\'t want to sound silly but is there much of a difference between the Elford and TWR bumpers only I can\'t see that there is much of one. I already have the rear spoiler and skirts and noticed from Ian\'s previous fb that it appears to have a different rear bumper as well, is this the case. Sorry to sound really silly but I\'m fairly new to this game and don\'t want to get it wrong.
Many thanks
Paul

Paul,
the full TWR kit was a replacement rear bumper, rear spoiler, side skirts and front spoiler as seen on my old red car. These kits were very popular back in the day and are still pretty easy to get hold of.

The full Elford kit comprised of rear spoiler, rear wheel spats, side skirts and front bumper. Elford used the standard factory rear bumper.
The Elford kit wasn\'t very plentiful back in the early 80\'s and the front spoiler is very low, fragile  and easily damaged. They are therefore hard to find nowadays in good nick.
I\'ve been after 1 for a year now but haven\'t found one in good enough condition yet.
You can see the Elford spoiler here in their brochure...

In general, I\'m not really a fan of bodykits on cars but the TWR and Elford kits do look the biz on a 1st gen.

Hi Ian, as I have a TWR rear spoiler think I\' better stick with trying to find a front TWR bumper so it matches exactly as I wouldn\'t want it to look to silly. You said they are pretty easy to come by but apart from Glen who had the black one going would you know of any sites you can purchase the kit from or is it just when cars are breaking generally?
Cheers Paul

Quote from: Rotaryguru;718418I have a genuine Elford front bumper. What are you looking to pay for one?

(Not being silly, just most people want one, then offer £20. Its obviously worth more than that, and don\'t want to pull it our of my storage, photograph it and put it back and waste yours and my time.)

If like you say theres not much difference if any between the two then I would be interested. Could you tell me what colour it is and if you can remember, the condition, save you having to dig it out.
Thanks Paul

The TWR is different to the Elford. The Elford has big lamps in it. The links I put up originally were for another kit (which used to be on an old car of mine) that was very, very similar to TWR:

And this one is similar to the Elford:

Anyways, decided I will pull the Elford bumper out of storage, sand it down and repair the little crack in it. I have 2 FD bumpers to repair as well, so a lot of fibreglassing will be going on the next few weeks.

Then I’ll work out if I want to keep the Elford front and put on my drag car, or sell it.

Quote from: ossie747;718417Hi Cliff, wondered if you had heard anything yet only Im desperate to get hold of one and wouldn\'y want to miss out. Glad you got your sunroof by the way, I love them and was lucky enough to get one with my fb although I know some of the guys on hear were trying to make the seller an offer just for the roof when I was buying it.

Hi Paul, NO the guy has not got back to me and to be honest I\'m sure he wont now.
I bought a starter motor off him through eBay and when he contacted me he said he had other bit/spares including Elford bumper/spoiler.  I asked him for more details on the other parts - then nothing else.  Having got eBay involved as a potential issue the part arrived nearly a month to the day I paid for it but the guy never contacted me once.  So don\'t think he likes me now - oops eh BOVVERED?????  I don\'t think so.
So bad news I\'m afraid.  If you want to try yourself send me an email to cliffdotcatvirgindotnet and I\'ll send you his email address.
