Hi,

Need a 20B service manual, or something to help with rebuilding a 20b.  Can anyone point me in the right direction.  I have found some non official stuff on google, but I would really like a service manal.

Thanks,

James

There is no Mazda service manual covering the 20b even dealers where not given one they where instructed upon finding a engine problem to contact head office and start removing the engine while a replacement was sent to do a straight swap. Most items are similar in type and assembly to the 13b used in the FD if that helps.

Thats what I have been reading.

Im just looking for some explanation about the differences between rebuilding a 13b / 20b.

Things like, order of bolts for building each housing etc.. anything I need to look out for when building the eshaft, the center stationary gear etc...

Tolerances will probably be the same, which is great because I can refer to the FD manual, but I dont want to miss something out. :)

Thanks,

James

Hi James

Nice to hear your rebuilding a Cosmo,, which model have you got and year etc,, I had my 20b rebuilt last year but I left it to the experts as didn\'t have the knowledge or the time

Its going in an FD (hopefully!)

Im going to look at getting Hayward rotary to do most of the engine work, some porting and anything that I can not do easily enough.

If I can find out how to rebuild it with confidence, then I may assemble it myself, also depends on the final budget.. !
