As Title please, Anyone got any info on this? I need to make a titchy adjustment to take up a bit of play but I know this is a tricky area since I read somewhere you can overadjust and get seizing on turns if you\'re too hamfisted.

Is the adjuster centre nut turned \'in\' or \'out\' when the locknut is loosened off? You would think \'in\' but again I seem to have read that it may in fact be \'out\'. Poss a left hand thread then?

Manual says \'nowt and the words \'steering\' or \'box\' are too common for the search.

Cheers....Dave

You will tell straight away if your are slacking it off. The steering definitely gets heavier when you tighten it up.

Another thing to check is the condition of the bush on the opposite side of the car, I need to check mines not worn out again !

Thanks Guys, I\'ve borrowed a 41mm socket so will have a go tomorrow.
The links are very useful Tim. I can\'t grind the socket flat but I have got a big old pipe wrench somewhere.

And thanks Shaun, The Idlers good; I think a tichy few degrees clockwise on the adjuster will help matters no end. I\'ll have to be careful.
