Right, spent a fruitless evening peering at tiny tiny pictures in Hyper Rev books, RX-7 Magazine and online and I\'m still no closer to working out what my rear spoiler is. So, since there are some proper clever parts whores kicking around here I thought I\'d ask youse fellas :Giggle...what d\'you reckon it is?





Sorry, those are really poor pics off my phone. FWIW, it seems very well made and the mountings match up perfectly into the holes for a stock early-model spoilers\' inner legs, which implies it was a quality firm wot made it.

My research has turned up a few leads; It\'s not the early Amemiya one cos Blitzen and Phil have that and it has the strakes from the mounting legs continued across the blade. I\'ve seen a pic of one that looks very similar on the old RE-Wing demo drag car, but I can\'t find a pic of it from behind to confirm (my googling skillz suck donkeys :o) and I didn\'t think RE-Wing did their own aero parts..... There\'s also a tiny glimpse of a MazdaSpeed Type I aero package which looks very like it, but I can\'t find a decent pic of that either.....the only other photo I found that looks promising is one of an Art Speed demo car in a Jap RX-7 tuning book, and I can\'t even find the company online let alone any better photos

Sadly, I can\'t even put these three pics up here cos my scanner got out of line a while back and I had to give it a whack :mad:. Never realised the glass on those was so fragile :o

Sooo, if anyone can answer what it is definitively or find a decent pic of this fabled MazdaSpeed Type I you win.....errrr the endless admiration of your peers and my endless gratittude And maybe a bag of sweets or something

Yeah, true. I obviously agree cos I\'ve had it nailed to the arse of my car without knowing what make it is, so my decision is clearly based on its aesthetics rather than any sorta badge kudos. If all I cared about is what the label says or how much it\'d impress others, I\'d have splurged on a massive name brand Big Gay Wing rather than some donkey\'s years old placcy thing with no identiying features :Giggle

....however, if by some miracle the planets align in the right way and I ever get this car running and done again, it\'d be nice to write a spec sheet that didn\'t read

I have the same one. wondered what it was. so its deffo a mazda speed. what do you think its worth. it looks the biz. the only problem is that its very heavy compared to the standard. its at least double the weight

but odly enough.... mine sits alot closer to the rear 1/4 pannels.... there is only about 10mm between them on mine... what\'s the clearance like on yours?

Kris, I don\'t think they\'re worth a huge amount dude, sadly . Everyone wants BGW\'s nowadays and they\'re not old enough to be an appreciating classic yet. I only paid about thirty quid for mine IIRC

Jono, mine sits at least an inch or so clear of tops of the rear wings dude. Maybe yours has been shaved a bit on the mountings :3Confused?
