Hi there,
I have a double bin Sony stereo in the car and have two problems with it.

When I hit the brake pedal, I must have a power supply issue as the sound from the stereo cuts out.
Periodically the aerial retracts of it\'s own volition too...

It all looks to be hooked up right so am open to any ideas....

I am also on the market for a fascia surround for this stereo so if anyone can point me in the right direction, or maybe has one lying around I\'d apreciate it.:cool

i had no end of problems with my stereo when i got my rex. there were bloomin wires everywhere so me and a friend who works for a stereo shop stripped her out and re wired it all. not a huge job to be honest and the sound was ten fold better then with that crappy japanese wiring. also ill ask him if he has a spare fascia cause i know he has crap lying around everywhere!

Cheers mate.

Let me know if he has any ideas what might be causing the power problem too if you can.

If it needs to go and be rewired then a quoite from someone with a recommendation would beat the last guy I went to.

Sounds like an earth problem.  I had a very similar experience in my Calibra.  Brake pedal pressed would send the speakers bonkers.  Turned out to be an earthing point that the amplifier and brake light circuit were sharing was causing the prob.  Re-earthed and all was fine.  :)

yeh just had a thought about it aswell and i agree is probably the earth. maybe the connection is loose or also if they get damp or wet it can cause them to short. its done it on my speakers a few times when a sneeky bit of water has creep in the door:mad:
