Evening all,

I\'m looking at fitting a new stereo which is only din, I have been reading up on here and understand that its possible to buy a fascia that has a pocket underneath.  This is fine but at the moment in my car there is literally an empty hole with carpet and a metal bar at the back,  how do I actually secure anything in this hole?

Sorry about the quality of the pic!

The car is great thanks, really easy process buying from Carl and don\'t think there is anything he doesn\'t know about rotary cars!

So I can just use a standard cage and it\'ll be secure?  Just cant see anything that the cage would hook onto...

no that wont fit mazda rx7 has a double din sized pocket that facia from halfords is too wide you want some thing like this autoleads fp006 its a universal single din pocket that will fit in the hole and leave enough space for the radio on top  unless you have all the brackets for the back of the head unit this will have to do

Hmm odd, mine is the same as that but had a plastic bar across the front to make it two single DIN slots. WIth post stereos you get a bung you screw in the back of the stereo which slots into the hole you can see in the metal bit at the back in your photo.

This is what mine looks like with the stereo out...

I wired standard ISO connectors onto the Mazda wiring to save any future hassle :)
