Hello just abit of guidance really any input would be highly appreciated
Basically was driving home last night at around 1am.Next thing i know massive amounts of steam from the passenger foot well which intern for a split second made my bum nearly fall out and think my ECU was on fire from the smoke.
further investigating it was coolant because it was spraying out like crazy under the dash board making the floor fill up with water fast!..i pulled over and kept an eye on engine temps.
When i reached under to try see what was going on i got burnt by coolant. At this point it was blasting down with rain outside.

So i bit the bullet and basically hacked the pipes and bypassed the heater matrix and tried to bleed and top up the water system with a bottle of water at the side of the road eventually finishing and arriving home 3:20am with cut hands, freezing cold and dripping wet through.
So now im here at work with cut wrists and black mucky fingers from using a phone camera flash as a torch... frustrated with little sleep from last nights ordeal!

Any advice on the job which is involved changing the heater in detail if possible?
Also where the heck do i get a heater matrix from?

Help much appreciated.
Thank you!

I had this problem on my FD, its a relatively easy task to do, it does however involve removing the whole dash to get to the matrix itself, waybe worth waiting till the sun comes out for this one.

Be careful when removing dash if its your first time doing so as its a little bit fiddly. If you have the a/c removed within the engine bay then I would remove all this from behind the dash at the same time, the only part you need to keep is the sensor probe thing that goes into the a/c matrix.

drop me a txt if you get any probs whilst doing it, msg me on fduk, and i will pm you my number
