dose anyone have any tips on removing the fd windscreen? as it seems a lil hard to get to in some places with the air tool?

AtomicRex

Run a cheese wire round the screen....pretty much all it takes.

You will need to replace the rubber in most instances though.

thanks mate, yeah new seal is on the way anyways!

AtomicRex

Getting the mirror boss off is a different matter though!

If you cant get it off with a blade.....try spraying it with lighter fluid....and then setting fire to it!......it will loosen the sealant and should allow you to get a blade through it.  Failing that....Hammer ;)  Just don\'t put it back on the wrong way round...:)

Where are you buying the new seal from ?
(Will have to remove mine for a respray)

AtomicRex

I have them in stock.  They cost £48.73 + P&P + VAT

We have the heated windscreens in stock also...if you fancy one of them ;)  We can sort this out under your windscreen insurance if you have it??  Plus depending on your level of cover we can usually give you a credit note to the value of your excess....so in theory the screen costs you nothing :) :)

i can vouch for the heated windscreens!! just amazing how good they work! 3-4 mins tops and windscreen completely clear... :D

atomix, are you saying, that if i boshed my screen through and then claimed a new one on my insurance, that i would get a free heated windscreen?

not that i would do that.... haha

AtomicRex

No because that would be breaking the law as well as your screen!

But if you were to develop a crack in your screen I will replace it with our screen.

I even handle all of the insurance claim for you :)

So for the sake of a couple of hours....a bit of a no-brainer!!
