Hi, I\'m a newbie, I write from Italy and I apologize now for my imperfect english, I\'m rebuilding myself the 13b of my fd3s (due to a water jack seal blown) and I\'m in doubt if doing a street porting, my motor is stock and I haven\'t no intention at present to reprogram the ecu, my question is: porting need necessarily immediately to reprogram ecu, or the motor can run for a period without any damage?

hello

The car will run without a new ecu, infact you can use the stock ecu while you run the engine in(first 1000miles)

Im doing this at the moment, it will run rich at low rpm and lean at high rpm.

keep it below 4k and no boost and you will be fine.

But for full power and accelaration you will need new ecu.

Any questions?

I understand, so I can keep the stock ECU in the break-in period, but finished this will have to change the carburetion. Mhm, I don\'t know what to do, with an apexi\' ecu with standard program it can be good?

from looking at the basemap of the power fc it adds some more fuel all over, but the bad thing is it adds more timing.

That would be fine for a no porting, but with porting you normally need less timing, so it may be safe but im not sure.

once you break it in, i would advice you to map it.

have a look on rx7club.com and go to the \'power fc forum\' that might have some information on what to set timing to for street porting
