hi all. decided that i cant afford wide arch kit or big alloys this year so want to upgrade the tires i have on my 99 spec alloys at the moment. they are pretty cr*p tbf.

what is the best tire make and best size (is biggest footprint best??)

it will be for track use and road.

oh im on oikens coil over dropped about 2"

i`ll be rolling the archs and will put some spacers to push them out under the archs slightly if needed
if i had 8 hour to cut down a tree. i`d spend 6 sharpening the axe

standard tyre size is:

235/45/17 front
255/40/17 rear

Nothing really wrong with those sizes...they\'re the upper limit of tire size for the width of the wheel anyway.

Compound wise, I guess it depends what you want and how experienced you are I imagine. I would recommend another set of wheels for track and have the 99\'s for the road.

A track tire on the road will be noisy, uncomfortable and more tricky in the rain. Also, do you really want to wear out the tires by just going to work? Just my 2p.

A good compromise would be a quality summer tire, eg, eagle f1 asymetrics or similar. Again, depends what your after.
