Pulling apart std wing morrors??

Just a quick one to see if anyone knows how to seperate the glass section from the motor on the std door mirrors?? Got a little project on the go & need to split them so I can cut the mirror glass!!

Its a sticky mastic that holds it on and it goes realy soft with heat.
Just heat it with a hair dryer, the hotter the better and it just pulls off.

Is that the glass or the plastic mount that it sits in?? would like to get the glass & the plastic mount off as I need to shape both bits!!

Thats the glass, there is a screw behind the glass to get the plastic bit off.
