Just ask the person building your engine or doing the mapping, what they have found necessary for the previous 10 second cars they have built, theory is ok, but proven results is the way to go.

I know someone who will build an engine for that purpose and warranty it as long as its mapped by them!!!.....I cant see why otheres cant do the same ....at the end of the day if you build it and map it for that purpose surely engine builders can gaurantee the work you have done?!!!:Hammer

I find alot of the time people seem to map cars very safe and offer a warranty...which is fine but if you have done all that is needed to a car for a particular purpose surely you can warranty your own work!!!..if not i feel its a bit of a cop out!!!

Engine builders/tuners please enlighten me!!!

trouble is Ed,  most people will have engine built but might not have a new pump, injectors, coils, wiring loom etc etc, and its the 15 year old ancilleries which generally cause the engine to fail not the quality of the build.
400 BHP - 650 KG\'s = 616 BHP Per Ton of Rotary Power

That\'s the way to do it! :Thumbsup!

Ed_RX7

Yes you are right ant......funny i was discussing the same thing about two hours ago with someone.....but anybody who builds an engine and warranties it will attempt to find the cause of engine failure before the warranty is honoured.....so whats the difference?

Think of these 2 questions and correct me if im wrong on both answers.

1) How many RX7 engines are built and warrantied then blow up A) LOTS

2) How many get rebuilt under warranty A) ALMOST NONE.

Why? Is this.

Its because the tuner can say it blew up for a reason or number of reasons and who are you to argue with him. do you have a real case if not im afraid your up the creek if your expecting a free rebuild.
