hey guys,  a few of you have seen my little project thread on the other forum lol, trying to build a drift car on a very small budget and i have a few questions, ive tried searching but i cant find the answers im looking for

1. things done so far, front mount, large capacity rad, removed throttle body coolant, removed double throttle body, removed airpump and blanked off the holes, vac simplification, heat wrapped the downpipe as i cant really afford a hks, keeping it sequential for a while, removed ast, removing abs, japspeed turbo elbow and 2 hellman boost controllers to control the boost and turbo changeover, also still need to buy apexi pfc. also the car is off the road atm so it hasnt been used with any of these mods on yet as i know it would probably blow up

2. what do i do with the little probe looking thing that bolted to the cat, it comes from the drivers side underneath and bolted to the cat with two 10mm bolts, also there is what looks like an earth that went to the join after the cat

3. not sure what boost i can go to safely, not after massive power but would just like a little more and would i havto increase the size of the injectors, get a frp and fuel pump if i want to up the boost? and wat boost can i use on standard inectors

3. would i benifit from a swirlpot as have heard the rex suffers from fuelsurge if the fuel is below half or a quarter (cant remember) and has anyone used the fuel surge eliminators from mrp?

4. i am only going to be running with a drivers seat so what is the multi plug for that plugged into the seat and can i just leave this unplugged?

5. be nice to me im sure ive asked stupid questions but i am very simple minded haha

thanks guys

2. The wee probe thingie is the cat heat sensor - signals a warning if the cat is getting too hot. If you don\'t have a cat you can just tape it up out the way.

3. standard turbos can boost to around 1barg IIRC, but i wouldn\'t go anywhere near that without SERIOUS supporting mods. I\'m running a healthy 0.8barg with decat, induction kit, intercooler and back box. (Standard boost is around 0.68barg if you\'re interested).

4. some peeps say yes get an anti-surge device but some don\'t. i am ashamed to say i\'ve let the yellow fuel light come on before, and i\'ve never had any problems with surge.

thanks trotter, may i ask how much is yours putting out on that setup?

1. Yes Rotorys do not tollerate lean conditions very well and have a habit to spit an apex seal out to reward you, I\'d wait for your PFC before firing it (also don\'t gun it on your base map im not sure how good they are)

4. The multi plug is for the seatbelt warning, Mine was unplugged when I got it and i have no warning telling me to belt up :Thumbs-up

5. *hugs*
I woof in your general direction.

Also if you are playing with boost, might be an idea to invest in a wideband O2 sensor and a good gauge so you can see whats happening with the air fuel mix, im not going above stock boost until I get that fitted, even with an ECU mapped to 0.9bar, im not risking it lol

no probs mate, putting out a healthy 307bhp at the flywheel.

Thats with:

Induction kit
PFC
Intercooler hard pipes (not entirely sure if i have a stock \'cooler or if its a really small aftermarket one!)
Decat
Super Dragger back box
Dump valve

Doesn\'t take many mods to start getting huge power outta these girls, and even better it\'s USABLE power!!
