you will get positive boost , but with stock ports you wont be seeing full boost eg (1 BAR) until around 4.8 - 5K.
On stock ports  if you want fast spool go for a T04E.
But if you are looking at doing big porting on your engine in the future then go for one of these bigger turbos

Ouch - 1 bar by 5,000 rpm is way too slow - even if I was to go for this option with the aim of porting the engine in future, I could not live with that for now.:(
Single Turbo time!

BlitzBoy

yep it is a big turbo, same with the GT35 that wont be at full boost until way over 4k with stock ports

I was led to believe by a couple of people that the GT35 would be similar to the T04E in terms of spool / response on the stock ports?

Not yet... but I\'ve doing a lot of thinking on the choices I have got.

I\'ll have to get a power fc as I am still speed limited at 180km/h... which is annoying enough on a small track in Brands Hatch but in Bedford I have to crusie for the 3/4 of the main straight.

So I\'ll have to deal with the speed limit thing...might as well get a power fc and map the car. Then I\'ll be better off if I have bigger intercooler, down pipe possilbely fuel pump as well to max out the standard turbos.

Then again, V mount intercooler will be an overkill for a standard turbo setup but if I go for sm or fm I\'ll need to replace them for a V-Mount as soon as I get a single turbo set-up, which will happen anyway in the not-so-far-away future.

So think about going single now... especially I have always fancied a TO4Z from the RB26 days

V mount is great for twins, lower intake temps the better! i dropped the boost after putting the v mount in as i run out of injector duty and made 20bhp more just on getting rid of the stock ic

Or even a front mount :)

There is still a divided camp on whether the V-Mount is better than the Front mount.  Personally I have ditched our V-Mount in preference of a very big FM and Radiator in the vertical position

oooh controversial,   what made you dump the V mount John,  I have always found a vast improvement.
400 BHP - 650 KG\'s = 616 BHP Per Ton of Rotary Power

That\'s the way to do it! :Thumbsup!

The performance on the first set up was useless....I would see intake temps of close to 70 deg C, but moving to a bigger set up, which is still for sale if anyone wants it, I was seeing between 10 and 18 deg C.

However watching the Race cars in New Zealand, not one had a V-Mount, all were running Front Mounts.  Also I was nurfed off the track and did some grass tracking before managing to make it back onto the track...quite fun at 120mph!  The car was fine to race other than a combination of the front splitter and V-Mount had acted as a lawn mower, and the entire space between the radiator and intercooler was packed with grass...end of race :(

We have had some intercoolers made for our new cars...and these use a much larger gap between the turbulators.  This should allow more air to flow through and so keep the radiator cooler.

antnicuk

interesting about the guys in NZ,  i spose if you make the front mount and rad big enough, then its gonna work

you still racing john?

Soon to make a come back yes :)

Hopefully we will have the workshop up and running to full steam again, and now with the new members of staff it isn\'t going to be long!

Have a few customer cars to get ready but then can start concentrating on our cars again.

We do have TonyC gallantly testing our new parts though...so hopefully they will be doing a good job at a circuit near you soon!
