Ok so i\'ve been having lots of probs with the FD at the moment, see here: http://www.mazdarotaryclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=57479

Recently i\'ve fitted a new boost guage but i dont think it\'s working very well as it\'s quite slow to react. Now due to my probs i would only glance at the boost gauge when the car started hesitating/spluttering.

Yesterday i had a lovely long straight road so decided to look at the boost gauge to see what is happening. When the car splutteres the boost is 12 psi or above, but when it does not splutter the boost is only 7-8psi. Could this be caused by the waste gate not opening and caused boost creep/overboost and when the car seems fine could the wastegate just be open?

Thanks

Rob

Either you are too rich at 12 psi or your plugs/ignition is breaking down.

Fixed it, turns out i had somehow managed to get a pipe going to the y-pipe actuator mixed up with a pipe leading to my BOV???? Spent about 4 hrs over the weekend tracing each and every pipe in the rats nest. Found another misplaced pipe too, the aftermarker BOV was connected to a solenoid that should have controlled the crv and vice versa, swapped them over and i\'ve lost my chatter noise but gained a bit of boost in lower revs and now it pops and bangs like crazy when the revs drop, especially when they come down lower than 3000rpm. I\'m loving it, over took a bmw and me way home and she (the car) farted in his face about 4 times as i pulled back in.
Also noticed over the weekend that the coolant pipe to the throttle body was leaking slightly so cable tied the bugg3r on, this cant have helped as it was leaking coolant onto wires and connectors. Also noticed an earth was not connected properly so fixed that too. Now she drives lovely, no hesitations, the surge when the 2nd tubby kicks in seems more prominant (sp) too, so all in i\'m a very happy Bobbit again.
Thanks to everyone who posted ideas on what to check etc.
