Hi,
I need to sand down my CF bonnet as the old laquer (sp?) is faded and peeling in some areas. Now previously i\'ve just used sand paper and it\'s taken ages and left my arms aching for days. Is there a faster or easier way to sand down parts? ie is there a sander that will be ok to use (random orbit sander for example)? And what is the best lacquar to use to cover it with?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Rob

Yes you can use an orbital sander on it, but you will have to be very very carefull not to break through the carbon layer (very easily done!!) then to Laqure it up I would say the usual 2pack laqure they use in the body shops as it is UV stable!! thing is you will probably have to put about 8 coats of the stuff on & sand it flat, then after that put another 3 to get a perfect finish!!

Cheers jono, looks like i\'m off to B&Q during the week and then my bonnet will get a very gentle sanding next week end.

When sanding the laquer is this best done by hand?
