air pump pipe

this has prob been mentioned a million times but thought i would check again

im going to be fitting a decat pipe over the weekend and was unsure what to do to the pipe that goes down to the cat

Id imagine you cant just block it off as the pump will have nowhere to realise pressure to, i cant remove the pump at this time....though i will be doing in the future

is it ok to vent to atmosphere as i think thats what i read but wanted to check

If you disconnect the electric cable to the pump it will never activate as I understand it, so you can remove the pipe and no air will be pumped through. You might want to leave it in place for putting a cat back on for your MOT though as it reduces emmisions and you might stuggle without it.
