rx7 needing a rebuild

right looking at getting an rx7 soon, but would prefer a cheap one, needing a rebuild as id rather do it myself (well a specialist) and then have the warnty etc so what sort of price should i be paying and any links? ive heard fd\'s going for 1k so thinking that plus a 2k rebuild should give me a relativley reliable car no? obviously the other general engine bits but nothing expensive, or something i could do myself etc
 
so what should i be looking to pay, and any links,
