INJECTORS!!!! What are sensible but well fun choices???

Hello everyone

Got a street ported fd courtesy of some extraodinary work from a Mr. Hayward. Just having some thoughts, what size injector capacity do fd\'s have as stock and how high can you go to without changing fuel rails, pumps etc. and if you do have to change bits and bobs, how high would you go and what\'s the best stuff to buy. and what PPPPOOOOWWWWWEEERRRR can you get up too??

Appreciate any advice and thoughts...

judging by your signature you are probably getting close to maxing out stock fuel system already.

I have decided to buy 1680cc injectors for my secondary fuel rail for my FC, stock fit not sure about FDs lol If I run the stock 550 primaries and 1680 secondaries at 85% duty cycle it will be injecting almost 4 1/2 litre of fuel a minute, so I will run out of fuel in 18 minutes that sound like fun lol

thing is you really want ot uprate the injectors, fuel pump, rails etc all at the same time, there are several companies that sale fuel system kits.  Im sure i read somewhere if you change the injectors you have to change the fuel rail aswell as they wont work with stadard fuel rails, also you would need a fuel pressure regulator

I think the FD needs to have a modified fuel rail to take other injectors, I think its cause FCs use top feed like most aftermarket injectors and the FD uses side feed, check out kgparts, they do a fuel rail kit

your stock injectors will out do your stock turbos.  I ran High flow twins at 350 fly hp on stock injectors and couldnt create any more boost.

If you want to beat your bosses Merc,  you will need leave your car as it is for now.

If your engine doesnt have a very health port, you will need one,  Then you will need the following:

Big Turbo,
Exhaust
Intercooler
Pump
Injectors (1 pair of 1600s secondaries is all you will need)
uprated Clutch
ECU (but i am assuming you have this)
Boost controller
Maybe WI
If you have a target power, there is no point doing the mods bit by bit as you will need to remap each time you make a change and mapping costs money.  

By all you need over time, spend a few days fitting it all, straight to the dyno and bobs your uncle.

You may struggle to reach 600 hp and you will not do it on you current engine (in a sustainable set up) but 400 at the wheels should be enough to do the merc.

C63 AMG.. even if they do give 500+bhp i think an fd with 400bhp ish should be able to take him on.

the old shape W202 (the one where you see lots of old ppl driving) had a C36 AMG and a C42 AMG i think it was the bigger power one was only bout .3 sec faster 0-60 or so.

you def wont need 600 to beat him.

I\'ve got the bosch 044 pump, bosch also sell some 1600 injectors, work at a garage in north cheam, sutton so get discount from Euro car parts on bosch stuff and exedy clutches. Just got no idea where to get a rail from.

Any ideas?

Do fd secondary injectors have side or top feed ports? Will I need an new rail? and if so what is the best to buy cos I can get good discount on 1600cc bosch injectors form Euro Car Parts so i would only need to source a fpr and secondary rail.

Fd uses side feeds, FC uses top feed, you will need to get a modded secondary rail to upgrade the secondaries to top feed, check out kgparts, they do a full upgrade kit

I\'m currently uprating my FD for a single shortly, I\'m going for the ultimate kit from rx7store it\'s the same as the KGParts kit but i\'ve not been able to order from KGParts. What pump are you going to use as that is my next purchase?
