Fb Performance Upgrades?

Hi all,

I have a 1 gen series 3 and was wondering if there are any cheep performance upgrades for this model of RX7.
i already have a racingbeat SS mid pipe and back box on.
is there a high flow air filter to fit the standard carb?

have not owned it for long and it is currently off the road having a few bits tidied up and checked.
so any advice would be appreciated.

Hi James.
Been reading your posts. I think you got your bosses 1st Gen RX7?
I keep a register of any 1st gens still running, any that are able to be runners or any SORN project cars in the UK and Eire.
I would much appreciate any info on your car for my register, like colour, year, Reg No., location (Town), also Series, though you know you\'ve got an S3.
Some people don\'t like to give any info - thats fine, privacy respected. Some people prefer not to put their details on open forum - fine, e mail me- dgnock at btopenworld dot com, since you can\'t Private Message until a club member.
I don\'t put any details of cars back on the forum, except just general data like how many of each series are in each county.

well if you really want to know the details of my car is 1 gen S3 in black and is a C reg witch is 86.
and how did you know i\'d bought my bosses car?

thanx for the info shaun, but won\'t be getting anything from the states at the mo... bad exchange rate!
was defo worth a look though. (got a good shopping list going!)

have a look though my thread below, plenty of upgradable stuff (most will come from the US or OZ) just depends on your budget! i have a brand new 48 ida that may be upfor sale in the next couple of months

the first thing i would recormend is some decent spark leads and a good service, you will feel the difference from some new plugs etc

Thanks for the info James.
You were posting on one forum or the other recently. There\'s so few FB\'s I always take an interest in them.
I\'ve only logged 3 FB\'s in Berkshire so far and 1 of them is black. Your boss didn\'t have 2 FB\'s by any chance did he, before you got that one? I ask \'cos it might be the same car?

he did own 2... strange that you know that...
his name is garry and now owns rotechnics here in berkshire where i work. he offered me the car and somehow ended up working for him and after chatting with him i decided to buy the car. (it\'s my first rotary.)
i\'ve nearly finished working on it and hoping to have it on the road some time next month. (fingers crossed)

Good stuff, look forward to hearing it\'s on the road.
It was another company boss who told me he\'d got 2 - so perhaps that makes 4 or even 5 cars in Berkshire. It\'ll become clearer later on no doubt.
I\'ve had some good service with a few spare parts from David at Rotechnics over the years. Is he still there?

yep david is still there, and we seem to be building the company back up to its former glory. how come your first gen is a K reg? from what i know that makes it a 89 reg???

Ah... a long story which I won\'t bore you with the details. But imagine going to look at a new car under a sheet in a Mazda dealers in London. Then imagine it\'s been there for nearly 8 years just as it came off the ship and only just been registered a few months before, in December 1992 (K Plate is 1992/93) Then buy it, drive it home and enjoy it for the next 16 years.
Amazing really but strange things do happen from time to time.
Give my regards to David if he remembers me. Is he still up for posting smaller parts out?

yep we still post parts out to customers how need them and now that gary has taken over we now send out the larger parts too but i think we charge for the courier.
i will mention you to dave and see if he remembers you.
love the little story with you 1st gen... put a smile on my face as i\'m sure you get every time you drive it!

Yep...Had 2 Mondeos and now 3rd Merc since buying the FB, but that\'s one car that we\'ll not part with. Sadly time is catching up with us but I reckon that in a few years we\'ll still be able to get a couple of zimmers in the back.
