Hey guys,

I think ive decided on a set of Bronze Rota GTR`s for my rex. I`m looking at 18`s, with a width of 8.5 on the front and 9.5 on the rear.

Will these fit ok? I have TEIN coilovers and they are set at their lowest setting at the rear, I would like to keep it that way. Just wondering how wide you can go on the rear before they start catching the wheel arch?

Think the offsets are ET40 for the fronts and ET30 for the rears if this helps.

i have rota gtr\'s on mine with exactly the same sizings as this 18x8.5 front 18x9.5 rear.  All depends how much the car is lowered, mine is lowered about 40mm and the rear rubbed badly on the arches so i had to get the arches rolled and now is fine.

heres a pic to show you what they will sit like

trevtubby

I`d like it to sit lower than that at the rear. Would getting a different offset help them sit in the arches a bit more?

they do look awesome though...really suit it, thanks for the pics.

Oh and how much did the arch rolling cost? Can any decent bodyshop do it?

ummmmm well a hammer and a piece of wood lol i did it myself and doesnt look too bad.  Im sure most body shops can do it thou

trevtubby

haha, christ..I dont think i`d trust myself to do that. I`ve seen vids of the japs doing it with a scafolding pole and just driving it round the wheel. SOD THAT! lol

I`d definately .... it up lol.

trevtubby

lol...hmm probably a bit excessive.

If your selling the car, why not p/ex your wheels with mine, and i`ll give you some cash on top as well to sweeten the deal. ;)

Hi! I also plan to go for some Rota in these size. ET35 4 corners. What ET are yours?
Would I have to roll the arches???
What does rolling the arches consist in exactly? Hard jod requiring body shop and painting?

Thanks

i think mine are the same as trevtubby wants to fit ET40 for the fronts and ET30 for the rears.

I expect you would need to roll the arches, if you look on the rear arches there is a metal lip, you literally have to bend that lip up to stop the wheels rubbing against it, i just got a piece of wood and a hammer, took of the wheel, put the wood against the lip and hammered the piece of wood so it bent the metal back until it was pushed right up against the arch.  Just dont get too aggresive with it as you dont want to dent the arch or make the paint flake off.

You could get a bodyshop to do it but make sure you find a good one, ive seen good jobs and also one of my mates took his 200sx to a bodyshop to get him arches rolled and it looked terribe, paint flaking off all over the place and rough finish

Oliv

all right, thanks mate :driving
