Hi,

Thinking about the fairly basic Toad CAT 1, unless people have any better suggestions?, anyway i want the installer to come and fit it at my house, as my car has no plates or insurance (hence the need for an alarm  ;) ).

Anyone know of any companies that will provide this service in the Nottingham region? or any national service?

Cheers, Wav:)

try calling Rich as per here i recall him turning down the opportunity to go down to Kent to do an install on a caravan of a cheap alarm while i was waiting there but he may do call outs for proper alarms on proper cars more locally (birmingham based) he does toad etc although he is the daddy of Clifford & healthily priced too. I have become pals with him thru seeing him at various meets other than that i\'m just a satisfied customer :god no promises but he\'s worth talking to from my experiance he is a guru of security devices.

or clifford concept 300 is about the 350 mark too.   or 500 which has got anti-hijack and 2 zone proximety sensors for 500 quid.                both cat 1. i had the toad on my last car. couldn`t fault it.  just i want remote start which clifford does:D
if i had 8 hour to cut down a tree. i`d spend 6 sharpening the axe

I\'ve got a concept 300 and it seems pretty good, I got the turbo timer option so when I get out the engine keeps running for 3 minutes to cool the turbos, it scares the hell out of passers by (and even my mechanic) when you walk away from a running RX7, just be careful the BiB don\'t take an interest for quitting a motor vehicle.

On my GTO I had a Laserline 996 V3 which was cheap enough and did the job, the only problem I ever had with it was when the battery on the car got low.

Whoever you choose to install it your insurers will want a VSIB certificate which proper installers will be able to give you.

clifford concept 500 is proper bo on mine but £500 not ;) lol

I have had both toad and clifford in the past.  The toad is faultless but basic.  The clifford is good but took a while to set the sensors, bad installation from GAP.  But it did have the extra toys.

My latest project I have got a new Clifford G5 850, with window closure and remote start.  Got all the toys like turbo timer, proximity sensor....plus other bits...   Best of all i have fitted it myself, so i know the installation is spot on and the wires all run in the right place neatly....and cut to length.

So Wav....if you fancy a go your self you can come and have a look at mine while it\'s all still visible.  might save you a few pennnies.  Mine in total came to 380...so a bit of a saving.

Cheers

Is a nice idea and would love to do it myself:), but I need the little bit of paper saying that it has been installed by a pro, so  can send it off to the nasty insurance companies if need be :(

Thanks for the offer and i will definitely have to come round and have a gander at your new project some time soon:cool

Cheers, Paul:)

No probs mate.... your welcome any time. :)

The interior is starting to go back in now.....all the stereo too :)  The inside is starting to come together......next on the list is for the engine to come out, but i am also trying to get a body kit shipped here but it costs a fortune for shipping :(

Seemed pointless starting a new thread, do any of you guys know if you can install it yourself (and thereby have a better job done) and just get it \'checked out\' by someone to sign it?
Also where is the best place to get an alarm from?
I\'ll probably go for the toad.
