So lets assume one\'s FB has a turbo with, say, a 3.629" V-Band Outlet.

Q1 : Now, where would one buy such a v-band and flange to start the fabrication of the downpipe?

Q2 : so Jetex sell custom exhaust parts in 3.5" diameter Stainless steel.  Is this the right stuff to make up the exhaust?

I\'ve started reading up on this stuff, and even things like exhaust length and resonance seem to make a difference!!  Is 3.5" the correct diameter (for an exhaust...!!), or should I be looking a reducing the diameter?  Or putting a reducer in along the pipe, so it can be tuned later?

Advice, hints and tips welcomed!!

stainless is the best - but can you weld it ??

3.5inch - if thats an internal dia i would say its gonna be LOUD !! - but should get nice power from it - are you going with 3.5 from turbo back with no silencers etc.. ???

are you going with a single exit or a twin exit system ??

Well the Jetex stuff bolts together, so only the downpipe should need any form of welding...  Probably just a single exit to suit the smoothness of the car.  I intend to put in a rear box to soften it, but initially no primary silencer to see how things go...

Right, so sorted out the pipework, and ordering the stuff I need today - but anyone have an opinion on whether I need a flexi-joint at the bottom of the downpipe, or if a solid exhaust would be fine...

I\'ve never known a flexi give anything other than trouble over the long term.  If I were you I would stick with a traditional solid pipe unless you have no other choice.

OK, so got all the bends and the flange.  This weekend is put aside for playing with it, and seeing what we end up with.  Any hints or tips for me before I get stuck in???
