hey guys a mate is helping me with rebuilding my rotary engine.

we have taken the first rotar out and started cleaning it up, the manual says to use paint thinner to do this, but the build up is quite thick and its not getting it all of, how can i get the thicker stuff of? would leaving it to soak over night do the trick?

also we tried to take the 2nd rotar out but cant seem to get to it?
the shaft is in the way, the manual doesnt say anything about undoing the nut (with pullys on) it just says to pull the section of the engine and slide it of, but this wouldnt work?
if we have to undo the nut what way does it undo? clockwise or anti?

thanks aj :)

Carb cleaner spray, gasket remover spray AND petrol is all you need to clean parts. You need to lock the flywheel and undo the big 54mm flywheel nut and the smaller 19mm bolt at the front pulley. Normal bolts. They\'re bloody tight so lock the flywheel good. A chain bolted to the block and flywheel is favourable. Start at the front of the block and work you way towards the back. The middle plate needs to be manouvered over the E-Shaft. Get someone to pull the E-shaft up whilst you lift the plate off. Have you got a rebuild dvd? Not being funny, but if you cant take it apart without help from us, your gonna struggle putting it back together. There are a few things you can easily miss out, and it\'ll all go wrong.

Use Brake cleaner to clean the parts, petrol is abit risky and very carcinogenic!
Use gloves too.
As has been said front pulley has to come off and it can be very difficult when alot of the engine is dismantled,so you might have to put some bits back together to get it off.
If you get completely stuck you could bring it to us and we\'ll get it apart for you at no charge.
