Hi folks, this is my first post so please be gentle!!

I bought some aftermarket seats and have modified the existing FD rails to accept the seats. It didnt take too much effort and they will sit nice and low.

My problem is the seatbelt receiver; with this in place I cant get the seat to sit central. So my question is - has anyone mounted it on the transmission tunnel or somewhere else. If so, whats the easiest but safest way?

Thanks in advance.

Ok, thought I\'d add some thoughts having studied this just in case anyone else is doing/thinking of doing the same.

Removed the seatbelt clip from the seat rails. Looking at the shape of it I could fabricate a new mount and attach to the transmission tunnel - but I\'m thinking this is quite a bit of work because I would want a proper anchor plate welded to the floor.

The alternative is to fabricate an extension to the seat rails from steel and bolt using high tensile bolt. I\'m concerned about the safety factor of this as the OEM position has an anchor point on the floor which would no longer be utilised.

Anyone got any thoughts on this? I\'m happy to share/document how I made new pickup points on the existing seat rails... just want to ensure safety for the seatbelt clip.

Thanks

The only problem I can think of is come MOT time...the new bolt will have to be attached securely somewhere - (I know you\'ll be doing this anyway!!) - but are you allowed to put in non-standard mounts??
Work hard, play hard house :D

Not sure on the MOT - i thought they just tested that the seatbelts locked?

There is possibility to mount the receptacle to the point where the upright of the seat meets the base of the seat... anyone done this?
