Hi just wondering if you were to upgrade the radiator for a 12a engine which one would you go for?

Its going to get a bit of track use and will be used on the road.  so no major power going to it although next year money permitting I\'d love to get a triple rotor 12a in it or if thats not possible due to funds or lack of funds stick in a 13b engine so would want to make sure that if I upgraded my radiator then it would be future compatible if possible.

I had a local rad company remake my stock rad with double the capacity (same Fin size but with a double row) of the stock rad. Wasn\'t cheap but was worthwhile.

Company Motor Radiators in Preston, Chap called Howard : motorradiators01 AT btconnect DOT com

Bought a cheap aluminium one and it lasted very little time before springing a major leak.

like Shaun said i have a double rad in mine made from a standard rad (Shaun was the ali one from the US?, i remember you getting it)

When I mean double its a standard Copper Core Radiator like the original. Unless you looked closely you wouldn\'t actually tell its uprated and non standard !

The Aluminium one was from Hong Kong, was cheap and nasty !

Shanks Shaun when you say not cheap what sort of price bracket would you say

100-150
150-200
200-250
250 +

I\'ve dug the quote out. It was 195 +vat for 2 row 20mm Tubes in the original radiator.

Thinking about it what series is yours ? series 1/2 had a different rad to series 3 !

Mines a series 3.

found a local firm that said they will do it anything up to 72mm fins although they said 47mm fins and increase the cooling by 50% using original, which sounds good but they also said they would keep it the same size as the original, just got to give them my old one so the can double check sizes before they can give me a quote.

Best bet is to open the rad when cold and look how big the core Tubes are and then ask what can fit in the current setup. My original was 1 row of 20mm x 3(i think) and the rebuilt one was 2x 20x3 tubes. He had stretched the outer ends a tiny bit to achieve this !

Would have thought that would be the same as what I have !
