Why dont rx7\'s have a turbo timer as standard?

Hmmm - i admit that even when i had a turbo timer (came with the car) I never liked to use it...

And when I got a new alarm fitted, the fitter had a right laugh at the timer - because it bypassed the alarm system!  Apparently, all a thief would have had to do was pop the top off (easy enough - it would fall off sometimes while driving) and cross the (helpfully marked) live wire, and the car would start :/

needless to say I had it ripped out with the old alarm
