Got a strange fuel leak on my FD. I have replaced o-rings on injectors today but when i attempted to start the car fuel was leaking under the engine again. It seems to be coming from where the exhaust downpipe connects to the turbo\'s. I have had a good look around the fuel rail etc but all seems ok. Any ideas? Could fuel come out the downpipe if the gasket is crap?

no fuel cant out of the exhaust downpipe lol. get a torch and get your head in the bay for a nice look

could it be anything else apart from the fuel rail area? Im sure all fuel lines run down the near side of the car and the leak is on the off side somewhere.

getting leak with engine not running but turning over if this helps.

check all fuel pipes going to the rail and regulator

I have turned the fuel pump on to put pressure in the system but cant see any leak. How long can i bridge the terminals in the diagnosis port for so that it turns on the fuel pump? Dont want to burn anything out.

rx jamie

you wont burn anything out. the fuel will just circulate round the fuel system

Bridge those two connectors and you\'ll hear your pump priming. Check near the primary rail as the fuel pulsation damper is known to fail over time.

check incoming and return fuel lines first, however my bet is the pipes from and to fuel rail and Fuel pulsation damper are leaking, the fuel is pooling at the top of the engine and overflowing...You will have to remove upper inlet manifold poss rats nest and the like to get access and change pipe and or o rings...best to pressurise system when inlet is out the way so u can get a clear look at where the leak may be coming from...
Definately want it mate but the dog has just died so will be getting the missus a new dog for christmas....
Sounds like a good deal but will have to ask the dragon first.....  :flamed  :spank

How do you know its not the injectors? have you presurised they system with them out so you can see them, I had exactly the same problem and it was an injector o ring that had pinched on re-fitting.

He had a problem before replacing the O rings and the same after so I\'d say its more likely to be the other issues mentioned above?

Can\'t hurt to check, as mine was leaking from the wastegate flap in the turbo as if was filling the engine with fuel cause of the bad seal.

Will have to take out the rast nest again for the 4th time. Getting to know where all the little pipes go now and might even give them names. lol
