I bought my Rx-7 back in November last year and other than the ludicrous 3" unsilenced exhaust everything was great! Unfortunately a combination of vmax (on private land, obviously) and Esso super unleaded led to a very lumpy engine. A Rotechnics compression test confirmed my worst fears. At least one broken tip and poor compression on the other rotor :(.

I was originally booked in for my rebuild with Rotechnics and then all of the recent unpleasantness overtook my rebuild date and it wasn\'t to be. A personal recommendation from Jit led me to Super7Autos. I called Jason trying to see this rebuild as an opportunity rather than a problem. This was my chance to make
the engine better, stronger, faster :) and Jason didn\'t let me down. I think we were on the phone for 15 minutes discussing options with Jason telling me about the mods he\'d made to his own car. We agreed on some light porting to improve exhaust gas flow and some water-jacket mods to help with cooling. He even persuaded me to get a Sports Cat of all things!?! Jason\'s pure rebuild price was a little lower than the price I was quoted by Rotechnics but there wasn\'t much in it. I was keen to get the car back as quick as possible so I could enjoy what little was left of the summer. Jason quoted me 3 weeks with all the modifications we discussed. Well sure enough after the first week he called me to tell me precisely how broken my engine was. 1 tip was in 3 pieces and another was in 2. So one rotor only had one good tip and the other rotor housing had been machined at some point in the past and not well enough to make good compression.

Mid-way through the 3rd week and Jason calls me again to confirm the price. £7 under the price he\'d originally quoted! I asked him to use the rest of week to valet the car and repair my buggered wing (255 tyres on the front require arch rolling dontcherknow :)) and to roll all my arches ready for my Blitz wheels to go back on.

Obviously the proof of a good engine rebuild is a few years trouble free mileage so I won\'t comment on that yet but In a true shameless plug stylee I have to recommend Super7Autos for Jason and his guys positive attitude which was so infectious he even had me convinced that needing an engine rebuild was a good thing! They did the work on time, to budget and talked me through everything they did and were always available on the phone and via e-mail. I\'ll definitely use them again and would happily recommend them to anyone.

I wish I\'d taken this photo before Autumn hit my car park but you get the general idea, she looks mint!

Only 15 minutes on the phone with Jason? You got off light, that must be a record. I always seem to manage at least half an hour!:Giggle Boy, the guy can talk! But personally, I see that as a good thing, because there\'s never been a time when he\'s thought he was too busy or too important to talk me through every aspect of the work that\'s being done, unlke a lot of places that work on cars where they seem to treat the customer as a neccessary evil to be tolerated as briefly as possible. Every time I\'ve had my car in there for work, just like you, I get it back wanting to post a gratuitous plug for the quality of the workmanship!
