I\'m 27 with a clean license, no claims, but no NCD. My first car with a RWD 82 Celica, followed by a MK1 MR2, so I\'ve plenty of experience with RWD cars.

I\'ve been driving 10 years, 5 of which I had normal insurance and built up 5 years NCD. Since then I\'ve had classic policies, all of which don\'t use NCD, so I\'ve been told that my NCD has \'expired\' because I\'ve not used it on a policy for more than 2 years. My girlfriend has a Ford KA as a runabout, and I keep \'73 Land Rover for lugging stuff around, towing and driving where I probably shouldn\'t. I\'ve run into a bit of a conundrum with my insurance....
I have 2 FD\'s, both of which are in for repair, and will be sold as soon as I can get them running again, and a MK1 MR2 which has been lowered 50mm, drilled disks, EBC pads, stainless steel brake lines, and poly bushes, plus a set of 15" alloys with locking nuts. It\'s running standard power, but I want to run a Megasquirt ECU and 20 valve head with throttle bodies fairly soon.

My policy with AON is coming to and end soon, but I\'m not sure I want to renew. They\'ve been great with insuring my UK FD and MR2 on the same policy as second cars (£500 for both, agreed values!), but when I asked about the standalone ECU for the MR2 they wanted "at least another 50% on the permium", even if I ran the same power! You could ask what the point is, but I can actually improve the fuel economy on most of the cars I\'ve put a Megasquirt in, as well as squeezing more power. The UK FD is stock but my import is going to get turned into a track monster with single turbo, porting and Megasquirt standalone. I need the MR2 insured just for general fun, and the FD\'s at some point for running in, testing and tuning, and demonstration to prospective buyers. It would also be handy to have third party cover on other cars, as I\'ve started doing a lot of ECU installs on drift and drag cars. This means I\'m sat in the passenger seat with a laptop most of the time, but it would be useful to be able to have a drive myself to get a better feel for how my tuning is working. Classic policies never seem to offer this.

Does anyone have any suggestions for insurers/policy types and combinations for my many vehicles please!

What about a Trader\'s policy? I\'m not sure of the details but my friends dad has one and it seems pretty flexible.

Hmmm. Thanks, I hadn\'t thought of that. I\'ll look into it.
