Hi, what does the plug and wire under the seat do? Is it needed? Trying to get the seats out and cant get the plugs apart, very temted to cut them!

Thanks

they\'re for the seatbelt warning.

They come apart, but are fiddly. Gotta sort of prise open the bits on the sides that keep them held together.

nah, just cut em, just stops the car giving another annoying beep when you get in. if you need an audible reminder to put your seatbelt on, you probably arent smart enough to drive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They\'re easy once you\'ve separated the locking catch. I just used a small key to prise it open and they came off fine. Better if you get someone else to hold the seat at an angle whilst you do it. Had much more fun getting the fecking nuts undone without smashing my knuckles to bits....

As the last post, just prop the front of the seat up and use a small screwdriver to release the locking snib on the plastic push-in connector.

In my \'94 FD the connection makes the seat belt tensioner work so that once set in postion, the belt does not pull on the spring all the time until you reset it or (and hopefully not) need the protection of the seat belt.

Ahhhhh - so *thats* why my seatbelt is staying slightly slack after I lean forward....  That plug used to be disconnected on mine - was connected after I had the seats out a month or so ago, and since then the seatbelt has been driving me nuts...

Probably doesn\'t help that I move the seat back-n-forth on a journey, to move my knees to different angles (otherwise me joints seize up :o)

You have to unbuckle and rebuckle to take up the slack once you move forward.
