Hi all...

I have a 1994 RX7 and am getting slightly worried by "the dreaded fuel filter" appearing in some posts i looked at whilst trying to find info on how to install one..

I\'m no mechanic myself but i like to read up on these things before i take it to my mechanic so i have some sort of an idea what he\'s talking about when i discuss my varying requirements !

Could any of you tell me what experiences you have had with changing the fuel filter, was it a pain in the arse or a walk in the park and are there any "classic" **** ups or scenarios i should be aware of ?

Cheers

Also, i\'m intending to install an Apexi turbo timer but last time i had a stab at it i got all confused as to where the O2 sensor cable is on the car so i put the timer back in the box and that\'s where it has remained since, thanks !

The fuel filter is a real pain. You struggle to see the bolts holdiong it in place and they are tricky to get to as the diff is in the way, then unclamping the hoses are tricky as you cannot see the clips. Other than that it\'s dead easy, lol

OK, so it\'s deffo not a job for me to do then, are there any guides on here at all that i could print off for my mechanic ?

He\'s so going to regret me getting this car, all the other ones have been easy to work on !

You can do it yourself if you\'re handy with a spanner, took me about 2hrs with a fair few breaks, you just need axle stands and a spanner. Do a search on google for Rob Robinette\'s site and i think there is a how too there

Its a pain because of its location and very little is needed to whip it out..... a weekend will do !!!  Seriously though if you are going to change it then you can relocate it somewhere easier to get hold of the thing.  Its nice that the filter is tucked out the way but would have been so much easier nearer the front  as on the FC\'s.  I never changed mine on the FD cos it was so blimming hard, ramps would be a hell of a lot easier thats for sure.

It\'s one of the only jobs i\'ve got a garage to do :o I\'m not proud - Pip changed mine in 15 mintutes just before he mapped it.
I\'m happy fabbing my own v-mount and doing all sorts of other bits, but Fuel Filter? nah thanks, over to you WGT :)
